The Neurological Society of India (NSI) is the apex body representing neuroscientists of the country. Founded in 1951 by visionaries like Jacob Chandy, B Ramamurthi, S T Narasimhan and Baldev Singh, it is not the largest society representing neurosurgeons, neurologists, neuropathologists, neuroradiologists and neuroanesthetists. This is the platform for academic discussions, dissemination of knowledge, and organization of courses for the benefit of the members of the society. NSI has also taken lead position in advocacy and public awareness of different neurological diseases such as head injury, stroke and brain tumors.
